Blue Nectar® Tequila Wins Big at WSWA 70th Annual Convention & Exposition
Awarded Five Medals, including Best of Show, At Industry’s Premier Annual Event
May 17, 2013— Blue Nectar Spirits Company today announced its Blue Nectar® Tequila (Blue Nectar) was one of the top medal winners at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) Tasting Competition. On Sunday, April 28th, the convention featured the Wine & Spirits Tasting Competition in partnership with The Tasting Panel Magazine. The panel was comprised of a number of highly esteemed wine and spirits experts including some of the country’s finest sommeliers, wine directors, consultants, merchants, and mixologists.
Overall, there were 58 entries in the tequila category. Blue Nectar garnered five awards: Best of Show and Double Gold for its Silver, Double Gold for its Reposado and Gold for its Special Reserve. Blue Nectar Silver was one of only four silver tequilas to win Double Gold and the only one to be distinguished “Best of Show”. Its Reposado was one of only two reposados awarded a Double Gold Medal and its Special Reserve was one of only eight tequilas and four reposados to win a Gold Medal.

Held at The Ritz-Carlton / J.W. Marriott Grande Lakes Orlando from April 28-30, 2013, this year’s convention turned out more than 2,300 wholesalers, suppliers, service providers and other beverage industry professionals. The event featured an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers, cutting-edge informational sessions, new product tastings and exciting competitions including the tasting competition in which Blue Nectar participated and a mixology competition. The convention brings together beverage-alcohol suppliers and distributors, industry executives, mixologists, brand ambassadors and lifestyle professionals from across the country.
